Good to see someone has put this to a test. I've been putting them in 90% ethanol for a while now (which I buy at the liquor store!), and those who have sequenced specimens stored in this say the DNA...

Out of curiosity: Has anyone ever tried fixing ant specimens in KAAD (kerosene-acetic acid-dioxane solution) before alcohol storage and subsequent pinning, or is the ant integument simply too tough...
